Frizz can seriously throw a wrench in your day, transforming a perfectly planned morning into a hair-related battle. Imagine waking up, ready to conquer your schedule, only to find your hair has decided to rebel, turning into a halo of uncontrollable frizz. Whether it’s the humidity, a lack of moisture, or simply your hair’s natural texture acting out, frizz can make you feel less polished and confident. You spend extra time taming those wild strands, trying product after product, or reaching for the straightener, all while the clock is ticking. And let’s not forget the mid-day frizz resurgence that happens just when you thought you’d smoothed everything down. It’s more than just a hair issue—it’s a confidence shaker and a time thief that disrupts your flow and makes you wish for a reliable solution.
Having curly thin hair has always frustrated me, especially waking up to unruly fuzzy hair. Just look below how my hair was before using these products! After researching and trying numerous products here are my tips that finally got my hair under control.
FIRST, UNDERSTANDING FRIZZ
Have you ever wondered why your hair insists on turning frizzy at the most inconvenient times? Frizz happens when your hair is thirsty for moisture. Our hair’s outer layer, the cuticle, has tiny scales that lie flat when hair is well-hydrated and smooth. When it’s dry or damaged, these scales lift, allowing moisture from the air to enter and swell the hair shaft. Humidity is a major culprit, as the excess moisture in the air seeps into the hair, causing it to puff up and frizz. Other factors include over-washing, which strips natural oils, heat styling, and chemical treatments that leave hair dry and brittle. Even the wrong products can contribute to the problem. So, maintaining a good hair care routine with hydrating products and minimizing damage can help keep those frizz-inducing factors at bay.
JUST SAY NO TO SULFATES
WAYS TO ADD MOISTURE TO YOUR HAIR
1. USE A MOISTURIZING SHAMPOO
Humectants like glycerin is the key ingredient that adds moisture to your hair by helping your strands hold onto water. The hydrating anti-frizz shampoo I recommend you try is moisture locking shampoo by ISHA DNA . I now only use sulfate free products and this has drastically changed my hair appearance. I noticed this shampoo has controlled my frizz and gave me a more volume and shine. This shampoo is enriched with vitamin E and coconut oil that gives your hair that glossy shine. I have dyed, damaged hair from all the heat I’ve put to it when straightening my hair and this has given my hair LIFE! They also make an amazing conditioner. It’s excellent for moisture retention, smoothing and protecting.
2. ADD A SERUM TO YOUR REGIME
3. LOCK IN MOISTURE WITH LEAVE-IN TREATMENTS
Leave-in conditioners are like your hair’s secret weapon against frizz, providing an extra layer of hydration and protection throughout the day. These lightweight, non-rinse formulas penetrate deeply to nourish and moisturize your strands, helping to seal the cuticle and lock in moisture. This creates a smooth barrier that keeps humidity out and keeps your hair looking sleek and polished. Additionally, leave-in conditioners often contain ingredients that detangle and add shine, making your hair more manageable and less prone to breakage. Make sure you look for products that contain oils and silicons as these build a barrier on the hair and keep moisture locked in. I may seem biased, but I recommend ISHA DNA hair serum. I love the smell and get a lot of compliments when I walk past people and they are admiring my scent.
4. USE SILK PILLOW CASES
So, treat yourself to a silk pillowcase and enjoy the benefits of smoother, shinier hair with a lot less effort. Another option is a silk lined bonnet. If you find this will be easier to use and to travel with try this out for sleeker shinier hair!
5. USE A HAIR DIFFUSER
HEAT IS THE ENEMY OF HAIR. Heat damage causes dry brittle hair and strips your hair of all moisture. If you love using heat to perfect your curls or waves but dread the damage it can cause, a hair diffuser might be your new best friend. A diffuser attachment for your hairdryer distributes heat more evenly, which helps minimize direct exposure to high temperatures and reduces the risk of heat damage. Instead of blasting your hair with concentrated heat, this adjustable diffuser gently dries your strands, preserving your hair’s natural texture and shine. This means less frizz, fewer split ends, and healthier hair overall. Plus, a diffuser can enhance your curls and waves, giving them definition and volume without the harsh heat. So, swap out your regular hairdryer nozzle for a diffuser and enjoy beautiful, damage-free styling!
6. Always Use a Heat Protectant
If you love your straighteners, curling irons, and blow dryers, but hate the frizz they can cause, it’s time to embrace the magic of heat protectants. Using a heat protectant before styling is like giving your hair a protective shield against the high temperatures. These products form a barrier over your strands, reducing moisture loss and minimizing damage from heat exposure. By locking in moisture and smoothing the hair cuticle, heat protectants help keep your hair looking sleek and frizz-free. They also add a layer of nourishment, often packed with vitamins and natural oils, to keep your hair healthy and shiny. I apply Kerastase Heat Protectant before I pickup any heating styling tool.

7. Scalp Massager
Scalp massagers are perfect to deep clean your hair penetrating the roots and relieve your scalp of any product buildup. It stimulates blood flow to the scalp and oil glands. Using it dry, it does a great job distributing the leave-in condition.
It feels great as a massager and gentle on the skull. The spikes may look scary and hard, but they are made of a soft silicon that does not tug on your hair.
I use this in every hair wash session to deep clean my hair so i’m left with a blank canvas to start my haircare routine.
